Have you ever missed someone over the holidays? Despite all the joyous celebrations, music, decorations, and visits, do you think of someone and wish they were with you?
This is how foster children feel every day and the holidays are a source of increased anxiety and sadness that adds to their already traumatic experiences. The Oregon child welfare system is in a state of emergency; more than 80 children were sent out of state this year due to a lack of services to care for their complex needs at home. It's hard to believe in the magic of the holidays amidst this tragic situation.
Parrott Creek has stepped in to help fill this need by launching New Era House: our newly renovated farmhouse and therapeutic-residential facility for foster children, prioritizing those with trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, and those currently out of state. We have the experience and expertise to provide treatment that fits the needs of each child in a home-like environment. And our ultimate goal is to help them successfully return to loving families.
We hope you renew your support this year and help bring these children home for the holidays.
Era House is just the beginning of our large-scale expansion to serve even more
children and families. Your gift today is part of our journey forward!
