Support critical services

For many of our youth, Parrott Creek is their home and their family. While many of us “stay home and stay safe,” our residential staff are working harder than ever to care for our youth. In the community, our outreach workers are finding every creative way to support families in need, remotely and via crisis referrals. The children and families we support are some of the most vulnerable after the elderly: all come from impoverished backgrounds with high levels of trauma, abuse and Adverse Childhood Experiences, many are challenged by substance misuse, houselessness and most have histories of poor engagement in healthcare systems.

Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, we have had to postpone our annual fundraising event which normally raises over $100,000 from our supporters. At the same time, our costs have gone up by almost $20,000 per month in response to COVID-19. We have hired more staff to care for our youth and incurred new costs to keep everyone healthy and safe.
